Grainbelt & Sarah Pedinotti on Local 518

Today at 11 am, we play host to Howe Glassman and Jason Hughes of Grainbelt. They talk about the recording of "Trouble Coming Down," its release (9/11), their CD release parties (9/13 & 14), beer, and music!

It was truly a unique experience talking with these guys. You'll not only enjoy the tunes from the new CD, but you'll also be entertained by the banter. That's for sure!

Monday night (9/10) at 6p, listen for a special Local 518 program (to be repeated Friday, 9/14 at 7p and again next Sunday, 9/16 at 11a) featuring the Sarah Pedinotti Band performing at One Caroline in Saratoga. The music is hot, including a brand new song!!!

On the program, Sarah talks with Chris Wienk about her music, science fiction, Allen Ginsberg, and more. Plus, after the interview and performance, you can hear a cool new track that Sarah recorded as a demo for her band to learn. It's a brand new song called "Intangible Age!" This is in addition to the new song they perform live called "Locomotive." Check 'em out!

Support the music! We go into our first ever fund raising campaign on Monday, 9/10! Thanks!

Local 518 Blog Launches

At 97.7 EXT, we're all about the local music. It's an integral part of our eclectic mix of music. Sarah Pedinotti, Knotworking, Grainbelt, the Kamikaze Hearts, and the list goes on and on. There's an incredible wealth of talent in the Local 518. This blog will be where we let you know things that we're doing to foster the awareness of such artists.

Today is the launch of our local music blog to companion our commitment on air to local music - music of the Local 518!

Get ready! We hope to have a DJ to host the local show in the near near future!
